Inside Jaisalmer Fort proper, which is the part that matters. Not fort-view, not fort-adjacent — inside the walls, where cars can't reach your door and you walk the last stretch through lanes built for foot traffic and camels.
The rooms are newly renovated and genuinely premium, which isn't a given in a heritage building inside an 850-year-old fort. If you're staying inside the walls for the first time, this is the one to book: central within the fort, comfortable, and you're not trading anything away for the setting. The food is good, which matters more than it sounds once you factor in how far a car can't get you from your room at night.
Worth checking rates both ways before you book. When we booked, going direct came out noticeably cheaper than the aggregator price — though that gap moves with season and availability, so compare rather than assume.
We'd split a multi-night stay between this and Garh Jaisal Haveli rather than choose one. This is the reliable central pick; that one is the view.
The full case for staying inside the walls, and the other fort-interior options, is in the Jaisalmer Fort hotels post.
